Composition de Cochonfucius

One fine day, the drifter was about to drink several glasses of white wine with a scholar who had just reached half a century of age. He sang in French:

Pour ton anniversaire,
on t’offre un coup à boire,
Avec la prédiction
de beaux jours sans déboires.
Tu veux savoir quels sont
ces charmants lendemains ?
Regarde, du futur,
le tortueux chemin :
Il s’améliore au gré
du lent effort humain.
Comment le suivrons-nous
jusqu’aux jours sans déboires ?
Kein Problem ! There we go!
Mais d’abord, il faut boire.

Cochonfucius remarked: you cannot be forever young, but you can stay immature as long as you wish

Un beau jour, le gyrovague s’apprêtait à vider quelques godets de vin blanc avec un érudit qui venait d’atteindre un demi-siècle d’âge. Il composa cette chanson:

Pour some wine in your glass
and listen to this song,
As from your birthday on,
your troubles won’t last long.
Trying to see the light
in tomorrow’s landscape,
Remember, if you’re lost,
it means you shall escape.
It also means you are
giving the world its shape.
Can you follow the road?
Do you find it too long?
Knock down this glass of wine,
and your life is a song. 

Cochonfucius fit la remarque suivante : « La jeunesse ne dure qu’un instant, mais l’immaturité se conserve sans problème. »
